Memorias del subsuelo
[Memories from the underground]

Carolina’s body becomes the body of an insect, Carolina’s body is a gigantic mass that cannot be seen.
Carolina’s body blends into the darkness and the density of her flesh weighs down the forest. Carolina’s body dreams of falling from the trees, she wonders whether her body is that of a chrysalis or an imago.
Carolina’s body moves and is erased and drawn on the body of the air.
When a body learns to fly, it dies.
Memorias del subsuelo [Memories from the underground] is a transdisciplinary photographic project that explores the transformative power of bodies as a way of finding alternative identities. How to participate in disabling the act of normalising one’s own body? Queering the body not only with oneself, but in co-existance and relation with nature, encompasses a new way of understanding and sharing spaces with other beings.
