Carolina de Vega (1995) is a director, choreographer, transdisciplinary researcher and performer from Buenos Aires, based in Berlin. Her practice moves through movement, text, object, sound and live image as unstable materials that interfere with one another.
A persistent question organises her work: who is watching, who is being watched, and what happens when that position becomes uncomfortably exposed. That visibility is not a condition to represent but a physical force, one that reorganises the performative space from the inside. From there, she constructs situations where the spectator cannot locate the boundary between what was planned and what simply happened. Her scores are rehearsed but remain open, like a recurring dream that shifts without losing its way.
This departs from the uneven distribution of space as a political condition: who occupies it, who is made visible within it, and what bodies leave behind without consent. Collage, irony and surrealist gesture are her compositional tools, contaminating one another across studio, city and stage.

She holds MA in Choreography from the Inter-University Centre for Dance (Berlin, DE), BA in Choreographic Composition from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (Buenos Aires, ARG), and studied Choreography as an Erasmus+ exchange student at the Institut del Teatre (ES). In 2026 she was selected for the ATLAS Choreographic Training Program at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival (AT).

Her works have been presented at Festival-Symposium Feminist ÉLAN – Designing Landscapes in the Anthropocene (Feldfünf / TU Berlin, DE), Uferstudios Berlin (DE), Projektraum Coswig-Anhalt (DE), Bardo Projektraum (DE), Bühne Unten (HfS Ernst Busch, DE), Studiosaal (Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, DE), Transversal Festival (ES), La Bienal de Arte Joven (Centro Cultural Recoleta, ARG), FAUNA Festival (Centro Cultural General San Martín, ARG) and Espacio Sísmico (ARG), among others.

As performer, Carolina has collaborated with Michele Rizzo, Tobias Kratzer, Benedikt von Peter, Roxana Grinstein, Edgardo Mercado, Nicolás Poggi, Gabriela Prado, Carla Rímola, Laura Figueiras, Gerardo Litvak and Daniel Goldin, among others. With Michele Rizzo’s piece REACHING, she performed at KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin DE), Julidans Festival (Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, NL), Dark Mofo Festival (Hobart, AU) and Tanzhaus NRW (DE).

Her path has been supported by residencies and scholarships including EiMa Creació (Palma de Mallorca, ES); the ABC Incuba grant 2025 (Sorora e.V. & Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion, DE) for the collective project LAB5; the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Study Scholarship, Berlin (DE, 2023–2024); and the Williams Foundation / New Opera Festival Winter School Scholarship (ARG, 2019), in collaboration with the Ramón Llull Institute (ES) and the Institut Français (FR).

Her collaborative piece Atisbo de una sonrisa inmersa received the PRODANZA fund two consecutive years (2020, 2021) and the 2018 Stimulus Award for Creation from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (ARG).
