Insurgente [Prototipo de un homenaje viral] is a solo dance performance honoring the Argentinian singer Federico Moura, who died from AIDS in 1991. It draws inspiration from the photo album of ‘Superficies de placer’ and features his last song, ‘Encuentro en el río musical,’ as the musical backdrop. The performance aims to revive the body while challenging the prejudices and taboos surrounding HIV that still persist today.
It was created in 2019 for the Festival Creadansa at the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona, and also been also performed in 2020 at the Festival Transversal in Tarrassa, Spain.
